Patrick P. Sarmiento is a Managing Associate at Veralaw. With a robust academic background and an impressive track record in practice, Patrick has established himself as a notable figure in the areas of litigation and dispute resolution.

In April 2013, Patrick joined Veralaw, where he currently serves as a pivotal member of the litigation department. His practice spans a wide range of cases, encompassing criminal, civil, administrative, and arbitration matters. Notably, Patrick is a proud member of Veralaw’s esteemed maritime and admiralty team, which achieved the distinguished honor of winning the Best in Transport and Logistics category at the 2023 Asian Legal Business Philippine Law Awards.

Patrick earned his law degree from San Beda University in 2010, where he graduated with distinction, ranking ninth in his batch, and thereafter becoming a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in April 2011. His journey in the legal profession commenced even before his bar admission, as he was recruited by one of the Philippines’ largest law firms. During his tenure therein, Patrick gained invaluable experience as a key member of its litigation and dispute resolution department.

Beyond his legal practice, Patrick is currently serving as a professor at the San Beda College Alabang – School of Law since December 2015, where he imparts his expertise in Sales and Lease, Torts and Damages, Credit Transactions, and Basic Legal Ethics. Patrick’s commitment to academic and professional growth was underscored by his recent completion of a Master of Laws degree at the San Beda University in December 2022.

Recognized for his outstanding contributions, Patrick earned a nomination as a finalist for Young Lawyer of the Year during the 2023 Asian Legal Business Philippine Law Awards. This recognition is a testament to his exceptional work as a lawyer at Veralaw, his impactful role in legal academe, and his unwavering dedication to excellence.
