In 2015, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) officially launched the NSCR Project (NSCRP) to provide Filipino commuters world class mass transport service. The first phase of the NSCRP is a 37.9km elevated railway composed of ten (10) stations from Tutuban in Manila to Malolos in Bulacan. In 2018, Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Corporation, Ltd. (SMCC) was awarded the second package (CP02) of the NSCRP which covers the construction of elevated railways from Bocaue to Malolos, including three (3) stations: Malolos, Guguinto and Balagtas.

In July this year, the construction litigation team of VeraLaw, headed by Atty. Julius N. Raboca, visited SMCC’s state of the art fabrication and pre-cast facility yard in Calumpit, Bulacan.  They were welcomed and toured around by SMCC’s Philippine Representative Hitoshi Yamaji and his engineers.

VeraLaw’s Attys. Raboca, Dumlao, and paralegals Ma. Kristel Capio and Jolynne Ann Gatica were given the opportunity to be the first non-workers. non-passengers, non-government official to set foot on the elevated platform of the Balagtas Station.

The completion of the North-South Commuter Railway Project would certainly ease the commuting public’s transportation woes as will reduce travel time from 1 hour and 30 minutes to only 35 minutes.
